Smidge Australian Emu Oil -90 softgels
Pure, naturally occurring vitamin K2 (MK-4) and omega fatty acids, sustainably sourced from grass-fed, Heritage-bred Australian emus.
- 90 capsules = 1-month supply
Introducing our fresh, grass-fed Australian Emu Oil softgels. Sustainably sourced from robust emus that happily graze on the grassy pastures of Southeast Australia — the only continent in the world with indigenous emus.
This traditional fat is from the Heritage-bred emu bird, and these genetics are imperative to the supplement’s nutrition. It has a synergistic combination of unadulterated, natural nutrients — especially vitamin K2 (MK-4).
We gently craft our oil (more below) to retain its rich nutrients and cofactors, including omega fatty acids 3,6,7 and 9. To support collagen production, skin and bone health, joint mobility, mild inflammation and more.*
Dosage Directions:
Always start with a smidge! Take three capsules, once per day, or as directed by a certified healthcare practitioner.
Start low and slow: Smidge® is premium, pure and potent. Therefore, it’s critically important to start slowly, with a lower dosage than recommended. For example, a very small dose every other day, or even once a week, until you can determine how the supplement affects your body and what dosage feels right for you.
How to take Smidge® Emu Oil: Smidge® Australian Emu Oil is best taken with food. You can take it at any time of day, with a meal. Take the full recommended dosage at one time.

Sourced from Australian Heritage emus
As mentioned above, our Emu Oil softgels are sustainably sourced from Heritage-bred emus that graze on the pastures of Southeast Australia — the only continent in the world with indigenous emus that have genetics imperative to the oil's nutrition.
We partner with a small family company in Australia that has been living and breathing emu oil for decades. Our partners are at the forefront of emu oil research, working with the Australian government and a university. They’re also pioneers of sophisticated rendering plant design and hold meaningful leadership positions — such as the Emu Industry Federation of Australia.
Crafted according to nourishing tradition
To bring its precious oil to you, we maintain quality and control over the entire process — from rendering to crafting and bottling the oil in fresh, small batches.
- After harvesting, we promptly render the emu oil directly on the farm. Rendering is the process of melting the fat to become oil.
- We use a gentle, low temperature, so it’s fresh as can be, and retains all of its nutritional properties. (Other brands may remove the fat and freeze it for rendering at a later point.)
- Then, we filter the oil by simply warming it and removing the greaves via centrifuge.
- Importantly, we don’t use any chemicals, additives, or preservatives, nor is any part of the oil extracted.
This efficient and advanced method preserves the integrity and yields the highest quality Emu Oil, reflected in the natural vitamin K2 (MK-4) and its naturally occurring cofactors.
Emu Oil benefits
The emu is a grandiose, flightless bird native to Australia that has survived between 60 and 100 million years! Its fat stores nutrition and energy, and serves the bird when it’s needed most: during drought, famine and reproduction phases.
Considered traditional food, emu oil gave the Aboriginal people of Australia essential nutrients while living in some of the harshest conditions on earth.* Today, emu oil supports collagen production and skin and bone health.*
Here are some other reported benefits of emu oil, according to scientific studies:
- Promotes dental health: Helps keep the oral microbiome in balance and remineralizes teeth by activating osteocalcin via vitamin K2 absorption.*
- May increase collagen production: Emu Oil’s omegas and vitamin K2 support skin elasticity, easing fine lines and wrinkles.*
- Improved bone health: Vitamin K2 helps activate osteocalcin, a protein that binds calcium and other minerals to bone tissue to support bone density and strength.*
- Promotes joint health and mobility: Due to its omega fatty acid content, emu oil supports joints and muscles.*
- Supports the heart and healthy cholesterol levels: Fatty acids may support healthy cholesterol levels already within a normal range, and vitamin K2 helps to activate matrix Gla protein to promote arterial health.*
- May ease sore muscles: Emu oil’s fatty acids may ease swelling and sore muscles.*
Pure, real food Emu Oil
Each serving contains 1,500 mg of 100% pure Smidge® Emu Oil. The best part is it doesn’t require conversion like other forms of vitamin K (like MK-7, the plant form), so your body can readily use and absorb it.*
And you won’t find fillers, additives or common allergens.
Please note that the nutrient information on our label will vary slightly from batch to batch, as this is a real food supplement and regular testing reflects nature’s ebbs and flows.
Who should consider adding Emu Oil to their supplement routine?
Here are some examples of our customers who take Smidge® Australian Emu Oil:
- Those seeking to support their health with a real food, unadulterated source of vitamin K2, including its naturally occurring cofactors.
- People on dietary protocols that require whole, ancestral foods.
- Families who aim to keep their oral microbiome balanced and want support remineralizing their teeth and overall dental health.*
- Those wanting natural vitamin K2 to accompany the vitamin D3 from an unprocessed cod liver oil, as the nutrients in the two supplements are complementary.
- Athletes who want to support their muscles post-workout.
- Folks wanting more vitamin K2 than butter oil. Smidge® Emu Oil contains at least five times more vitamin K2 than butter oil.*
The most bioavailable and absorbable form of vitamin K
Smidge® Australian Emu Oil provides the most bioavailable and absorbable form of vitamin K, which is vitamin K2 as MK-4 (the fat-soluble, converted form of vitamin K2 from animal fat (not plants)).
This is because your biochemistry must first convert all forms of vitamin K into vitamin K2 (MK-4) — to be absorbed and utilized in the body — including vitamin K1 and MK-7 (plant-based forms of vitamin K).
And the conversion rate in the body from the plant forms of vitamin K (K1 and K7) is low, and dependent on gut health. For instance, many people only absorb about 20% of vitamin K1. So, you’re likely only to get a small amount of vitamin K when you take it in the plant form, MK-7.
Our Emu Oil doesn’t require conversion in your body to get the most out of the vitamin, because it’s been converted for you through the grass-fed Australian emus’ healthy digestion.
You also won’t find it at your local health food store. It’s that precious.*

What is in Smidge® Australian Emu Oil?
- Emu Oil: Pure Australian Emu Oil
- Softgel: Gelatin, glycerol, water
I decided to give emu oil a try and noticed a difference in my mood within a day of taking it...I feel significantly calmer event though I'm in the middle of final exams and finishing a thesis. I also noticed that I don't get as stressed or anxious when I'm hungry so my blood sugar levels are probably more stable too.
