Smidge Sensitive Probiotics Capsules
Premium blend of eight clinically proven probiotic strains for robust gut health and folks with sensitivities. Formulated to avoid negative reactions, with no common allergens, additives or prebiotics.
- 60 vegetarian capsules = 1-month supply, 5 billion CFUs per capsule
A super clean, potent and therapeutic-grade probiotic for on-the-go. Smidge® Sensitive Probiotic comes in a convenient little oral capsule, with the same GutPro® formula that's been a staple in your carry-on:
Eight strains of beneficial bacteria that are essential for digestive health, without the strains that can irritate folks with sensitive digestive systems.
Dosage Directions
Adults: Always start with a smidge! Start with one capsule daily with food. Then take two capsules together, or as directed by a certified healthcare practitioner. (See "low and slow" note below).
Children: Take one capsule daily with food.
For sensitive adults and children: A smaller dose may be obtained by pulling apart the capsule and taking a portion of the contents.
Start low and slow: Our supplements are premium, pure and potent. Therefore, it's critically important to start slowly, with a lower dosage than recommended. For example, a minimal dose every other day, or even once a week, until you can determine how the supplement affects your body and what feels right for you.
How to take: For best absorption, we recommend taking your probiotic with a meal or a spoonful of organic fat, like butter, ghee, emu oil or coconut oil. See FAQs for more info.
Storage:
Smidge® Sensitive Probiotic capsules require refrigeration for long-term storage. They can be kept at room temperature for up to two weeks while traveling.

What does Smidge® Sensitive Probiotic do?
After decades of research and feedback from practitioners, scientists, professionals and those with a vested interest in intestinal health, we formulated this blend to help restore digestion and elimination while aiding in the breakdown and assimilation of nutrients. So you can garner all of the benefits from these powerful, small-batch probiotic capsules.
This blend contains eight clinically-proven strains of probiotics for gut health (seven human strains and one plant-based strain):
- L. gasseri
- L. salivarius
- B. bifidum
- B. breve
- B. infantis
- B. longum
- B. lactis
- L. plantarum, the plant strain
Is it the one for you?
This formula is also ideal for people who are embarking on their health journeys or taking their first bites in dietary protocols, like: GAPS, SIBO, Body Ecology, Autism/PDD-NOS, PANDAS/PANS, Paleo, AIP, Ketogenic, Gluten-free, soy-free and casein-free.
(Please note that while this probiotic may be suitable for people on these diets, we do not claim it cures the health conditions that prompt the diets.)
Athletes, biohackers and people passionate about real food also use our Sensitive Probiotic capsules as an integral part of their wellness routines. We've even heard from happy customers who take it as part of their beauty regimens, for glowing skin and hair.*
And because the capsules are less condensed than the powder, they're ideal for those just starting probiotics. They're also great for travel!
How the strains in this formula support comfy, healthy digestion
Below are some of the studied health benefits of the eight strains in our formula (more info and sources in our ingredients section).
First, they seem to play a role in comfy, healthy digestion.* The biggies are:
- Minimizing gas, bloating and abdominal discomfort.*
- Helping to digest challenging foods and assimilate nutrients.*
- Establishing a healthy gut microbiome.*
- Rebalancing the gut when pathogens are causing issues, such as C. diff (C. difficile) or SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth).*
- Supporting the microvilli in the production and synthesis of vitamins, especially B vitamins that include folate, biotin, thiamine, nicotinic acid, pyridoxine, riboflavin and B12.*
- And maintaining regularity (sans constipation or occasional diarrhea). So you can go every single day with ease.
More probiotic health benefits
When the gut is healthy, overall health benefits can follow! The strains in Smidge® Sensitive Probiotic also may:
- Keep the immune system strong.*
- Keep inflammation in check.*
- Support a peppy mood and sharp brain.*
- Promote smooth, healthy skin.*
- Ease histamine intolerance and oxalate sensitivity.*
- And they may even support dental and oral health.*
8-strain formula

What is in Smidge® Sensitive Probiotic Powder?
- Bifidobacterium infantis: B. infantis is a folate-producing beneficial bacteria, primarily found in the gastrointestinal tracts of healthy infants (and human mouths). It seems to play a critical role in establishing a healthy intestinal lining and a robust and well-regulated immune system.* Research has also linked B. infantis to helping mitigate inflammation in the digestive system and throughout the body, stating that it may reduce the production of inflammatory cytokines.* Research suggests B. infantis regulates the production of tryptophan, the precursor for serotonin (the neurotransmitter associated with a sense of satisfaction and happiness).* A note on folate: it's one of the B vitamins responsible for tissue growth and cell function.
- Lactobacillus plantarum: L. plantarum is a plant-based, beneficial probiotic strain naturally found in fermented foods like sauerkraut. Several clinical trials have shown that L. plantarum helps support comfortable digestion, helping to minimize gas and bloating.* One of the most common probiotics, L. plantarum seems to support immune system health.* Not only does L. plantarum stimulate the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines like IL-10, it also seems to stimulate the production of regulatory T-cells.* And, preliminary studies indicate that L. plantarum may help strengthen memory, concentration and mood.*
- Bifidobacterium bifidum: Bifidobacteria are a group of bacteria that typically live in the human intestines and stomach. They help to perform essential functions like digestion and maintaining beneficial bacteria. One study suggests that B. bifidum may support immunity by staving off colds and touches of the flu in the winter months.* Another clinical study indicates B. bifidum may help with abdominal discomfort caused by gas and bloating.* Another study states that B. bifidum can help with occasional diarrhea.* Clinical research suggests that B. bifidum can help maintain comfortable joint movement by helping manage inflammation.* There's also a correlation to improved mental health (boosting mood and easing mild anxiety), as bifidobacterium is classified as a "psychobiotic", which affects central nervous system-related functions and behaviors mediated by the gut-brain axis.
- Bifidobacterium longum: One of the first bacteria to colonize our bodies at birth, B. longum has been associated with helping to digest milk and other challenging foods, as it produces lactic acid from the fermentation of sugar in the gut.* Research suggests that B. longum may support immunity and growth in children.* It's also linked to helping maintain healthy cholesterol levels within a normal range.* And it's been studied to help alleviate stress.
- Lactobacillus gasseri: L. gasseri is naturally found in the human digestive and urinary tracts. It's been shown in clinical trials to help people lose weight.* Preliminary research indicates that L. gasseri may inhibit inflammation signaling at the genetic level.* L. gasseri may also support healthy cholesterol levels already within a normal range.*
- Lactobacillus salivarius: L. salivarius is one of the most prevalent probiotic species in human saliva. It produces organic acids, such as lactic acid and acetic acid from carbohydrates. L. salivarius seems to help keep the microbial population in the mouth healthy.* Also, several clinical trials indicate that L. salivarius seems to help support the immune system and, as a result, support healthy skin.* Importantly, researchers state that it may keep the vagina healthy and comfortable by promoting a healthy pH balance.*
- Bifidobacterium breve: B. breve is one of the most helpful probiotic bacteria in the human body due to its unique ability to compete with harmful bacteria by digesting a large variety of molecules. It's also prevalent in the colons of breastfed babies. B. breve is linked to helping with occasional constipation in children.* And when combined with a gluten-free (real food) diet, B. breve promotes microbial balance in children’s digestive tracks.* B. breve seems to play a role in helping to establish a healthy microbiome, based on trials involving preterm babies. Clinical research suggests it may be useful in recolonizing the guts of children who have undergone chemotherapy.*
- Bifidobacterium lactis: A transient probiotic bacteria that inhabits the human intestines and the colon, B. lactis breaks down body waste and aids in the absorption of various vitamins and minerals. One study showed that B. lactis helped preterm babies gain weight after taking antibiotics, and helped develop their immune systems.* Beyond the babies, extensive research has shown that B. lactis is useful for abdominal comfort and proper digestion, helping to get the colon in shape and making constipation a thing of the past.* Notably, preliminary lab research indicates B. lactis shows exciting potential in neutralizing certain toxins from wheat.*

I bought this probiotic because another brand I was using upset my stomach and an online review said this one has a well-researched forumla. So far, this hasn't irritated my stomach at all. Hopefully in a few months time I'll notice some good results.
